Privacy statement

1. Who is responsible?

Fellow Finder is offered by FellowFinder.org, reachable at [email protected].

2. No account

You do not need to create an account. Fellow Finder does not manage user profiles and has no server on which your journal, check-ins, start date, favourites, or fellows are stored.

3. Data on your device

Information you enter in the app is kept locally on your device. This may include your start date, check-ins, journal, answers to daily questions, Steps work, favourites, settings, and details about fellows.

Depending on your phone settings, a copy of app data may end up in your own encrypted iCloud or Android device backup. That backup is managed by Apple or Google, not by Fellow Finder.

4. Location

If you give permission, Fellow Finder uses your location on the device to work out which meetings you can still make and to show meetings nearby. Your exact location is not sent to Fellow Finder. You can refuse location access and enter a place or postcode yourself.

5. Meeting information

The app retrieves public meeting lists from NA, AA, and CA. Your device connects to wherever that public feed is offered. Fellow Finder cannot guarantee the content or availability of external sources.

6. Maps, routes, and external apps

When you open the map, map imagery is requested from OpenStreetMap. The provider receives technically necessary data such as your IP address and which map area is being loaded. If you open a route, Zoom link, messaging app, or calendar, the privacy terms of that external service or app also apply.

7. Journal and device security

The journal is accessible after a check with your device's security method, such as face recognition, fingerprint, or passcode. The app does not receive your biometric data. The operating system only reports whether the check succeeded.

Your journal is protected by the data security of iOS or Android for as long as your device is locked. There is no additional Fellow Finder encryption with a separate password.

8. Photo import of fellows

If you photograph a paper phone list or pick a photo from your library, the app uses text recognition on your own device to suggest names and numbers. The photo and the recognised text are not sent to a Fellow Finder server. You check and edit the result before choosing which contacts are saved.

9. Notifications and calendar

If you give permission for this, Fellow Finder can schedule local reminders for meetings, check-ins, and milestones. If you put a meeting in your calendar, it is added through your device's calendar access.

10. Website

This website uses no advertising cookies, marketing tracking, or visitor profiles. The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technically necessary connection data in order to serve the website securely and quickly.

11. Exporting and deleting

You can export your journal as PDF or Markdown and share fellow contacts as a vCard. You then choose where you keep those files or who you share them with. You can delete data in the app. If you delete the app, your device removes the local app data; an earlier device backup may still exist according to Apple's or Google's retention periods.

12. Changes and contact

This statement may be adjusted when Fellow Finder changes. The date of the most recent change is shown at the top. You can send privacy questions to [email protected].
